Hogwarts Houses - Lingrean Rosal'sule'din Style (P1)

 

 

 ...or I explain which House my versions of the characters are in, and why:

 

(and possibly a little backstory on the 'why', with a little elaboration. I'm not doing a full fic here, but hopefully enough to get ya'lls imaginations started... Though I might, MIGHT, make one-shots about this 'cause now I WANT to see it... And yeah, I used other names for Hogwarts and St. Mungo's, mostly because this isn't supposed to be on Earth, it's supposed to be in Thedas. And griffons actually exist there, dammit, and so do ravens and crows and badgers and snakes. So there.)

 

Dorian: Gryffindor. Entire family may or may not have been in Slytherin, and his father didn't actually know because Dorian lied for a few years and acted the model student; until, at least, he and The Iron Bull were found snogging in a broom cupboard; Halward disapproved and disowned him.

 

The Iron Bull: Slytherin (kinda obvious why). Doesn't give a damn about the whole Slytherin-Gryffindor feud, 'cause why would anyone care about that when there's money to be made? Gets himself a whole group of miscellaneous people (among them Skinner, an elf who liked to punch people a little too much, and Dalish, a... Dalish elf who fought with Skinner over her unmarked skin and protested a lot about being forced to go to school with other humans), including Krem, a Gryffindor Tevinter boy who was taken under the wing of Dorian. Calls his group the 'Chargers'.

 

Vivienne: A sixth-year Slytherin who was in Celene's Court, a group of dashing young mages - most of them Slytherin - who likes demonstrating her skills in ice magic rather well. Not entirely a pleasant person, not the WORST, either.

 

Gaspard: Ravenclaw. Part of Celene's Court. Per agreement with Adhlea's mother Hellana, he became betrothed to Adhlea when she turned fifteen - right after his previous fiance died in St. Giselle's. Unfortunately for him, Deshanna intervenes after Yule, after Adhlea's mother is taken by Tevinter men, before an allied Tevene-Qun force attacks the school.

 

Fenris: Ravenclaw. Broody and angry. After Marina stops the invading Tevinter men from taking him and his younger siblings, he and the other start dating. It's weird to half the school because Marina did turn a human into a toad, and another student may have stepped on that toad, and Fenris had kissed her in the middle of the fight. It's weird, but everyone says it's 'cute' later on.

 

Varaina: Hufflepuff. Aims to be a medic and claims to be the only sane child of the Lavellan Dalish clan. The three Tevinter men who had tried to take her had been the unfortunate target of years of repression of deadly instincts that come with both a Dalish elf and being one of the Lavellan siblings. Terrifying. Nobody who was around her (save for her siblings) will look at her the same.

 

Marina: Gryffindor. Badass witch, power to back up her words. Doesn't take shit from anyone, and has been in love with Fenris since their third year. Sixth year when the darkspawn rises again because of her younger brother (on accident), she aides Doshiel Aleriel (who later turns out to be a de-aged Anaris, a former member of the Evanuris, who had been obliviated). During their Seventh Year, when the Evanuris threatened the entire school, Marina took up the title of 'Champion' because, upon dueling Flemeth, she won (Of course, nobody had told her Flemeth was the name of Mythal's sister, whom Mythal had been switching places with). Found out about the blood-madness only after she had been using a power-augmentation blood spell.

 

Manvena Doshiel Aleriel: Slytherin and Gryffindor. Adopted daughter of the Aleriel Dalish clan. Seemingly moderately powerful. Called the 'Warden' due to her proficiency with wards. She took down the darkspawn single-handedly in the dark - mostly due to having memory flashes after being one of the people exposed to magically altered darkspawn blood. Protective to near-stupidity of her girlfriend Leliana (who she gently dumps later on to go with Adhlea), the Warden is one of the people who does stupid shit for love. As Anaris, she was a Slytherin.

 

Leliana: Slytherin. Is apparently an orphan, but has the most connection in and out of Skyhold. Nobody pisses Leliana off. Nobody upsets her girlfriend, either. Doshiel OR Josie. Is called 'Knife Lady' by Varric.

 

Josephine: Hufflepuff. Darling, diplomatic, and beloved by half the school. Very well-versed in everything Leliana, a good friend of Adhlea's upon formation of the 'Inquisition' in Adhlea's seventh year after the Divine's death and upon Corypheus being instated. Josephine was highly instrumental in communicating with the other members of Inquisition.

 

Sera: Gryffindor. Lovable, if not crass. Dislikes Dalish elfy-elves, absolutely loves Deshanna when she visits. Dates Yenera and Elaine later on. Part of Adhlea's Inner Circle.

 

Elaine: Ravenclaw. Smart, serious, and altogether Done With Corypheus' Bullshit. Advocates that Adhlea, after being attacked by said Headmaster during the battle which killed Justinia and rescued by that really cute professor, becomes the leader of their illegal defense club.

 

Yenera: Hufflepuff. An oversized ball of fluff. As a proclaimed Tal-Vashoth alongside Luka, she and The Iron Bull butt heads FAR too much until Bull gets his head out of his ass when the Qun attempt to seduce Adhlea onto their side upon realizing the Evanuris were gaining ground outside the walls of Skyhold. Yenera is related to Adhlea by way of her blood father's sibling, though the four members of Lavellan claim Abelas as their father (who is confounded by gaining four more children, but totally used to it). Yenera is, in the middle of that really shitty last year, adopted as a Lavellan member by way of mouth and, upon graduating, is informed by Abelas that he was, apparently, her father now.

 

Luka: Hufflepuff. A tired Tal-Vashoth kid who grew up in the Qun and somehow gained two elvhen sisters and a dwarven sister when he ran away, dislikes the Qun because of their anti-everything-but-them policies, their hypocritical action of siding WITH Tevinter to attack Skyhold to try to brainwash the lot of students and their despicable action of trying to seduce the foursome's platonic (and one-sided, because she really doesn't know) girlfriend due to her surviving Corypheus' attack, which killed everyone at that meeting save for Adhlea.

 

Hinata: Gryffindor. She's an insanely gifted with healing potions, but does have a reputation for cursing those who piss her off. Advice: DO NOT.

 

Lila: Gryffindor. A dwarf. While unable to use magic due to the fact she is unconnected to the Fade, she intends to learn the theory so as to become like Dagna, a legend in Orzammar. Lila was accepted by Justinia. Like Dagna, Lila helps craft weapons for the Dalish elves so they can shatter the animated Lyrium soldiers that were corrupted. As Corypheus and the Evanuris attempt to shatter the will of the students by bringing them into the school to roam about the hallways, the teachers start giving combat lessons (with the exception of Solas and Varric), and hand out weapons to the older students due to their restrictions on using magic in the hallways (because Corypheus had magic-detecting charms everywhere). Lila and Dagna are at the forefront of the weapons-making process.

 

Minaeve: Ravenclaw. Primarily a creature-researcher. Does not like fights, but does love Cullen, who seeks to keep his fellow students safe. Minaeve becomes close friends with the Inner Circle of Adhlea's 'Inquisition'.

 

Morrigan: Slytherin. Mythal's daughter. Not well-liked. Half-sister with Marina and Garrett.

 

Garrett: Gryffindor. Gets caught up in way too many of his sister's shit. Stays well away from the entire darkspawn and Evanuris shit mostly because while it was kind of his fault Corypheus was freed from his cell, Garrett does not want to die and therefore remains well away from Marina and everyone else.

Cullen: Gryffindor. While technically not a Skyhold student, as he is a student of the templar school, the students of the templar school intermingle with Skyhold students every other week in order to learn about magic so that he will know what is dangerous and what isn't. One of the few templars to actually mingle, because he was actually interested in keeping an eye out for evil people rather than keeping an eye on them. After his fourth year, hundreds of templars are killed and Justinia officially opens a wing of the castle dedicated to teaching the templars.

 

Blackwall: Ravenclaw. Took on Blackwall's moniker after he died killing darkspawn. Has templar-like abilities, and unfortunately not good at regular magic.

 

Cole: Hufflepuff. He's a spirit, and while it's kinda weird for a lot of people, Adhlea takes him under her wing. Keeps him there even when she finds out he's a representation of 'Compassion', mostly because while everyone's wary of personified spirits Cole wasn't actively murdering people like a lot of demons usually did.

 

Emmaera: Hufflepuff. Nice spirit, was sicced on Adhlea and a few other kids before she was changed into a spirit of dreams. Bound to Adhlea by choice.

 

Envy: Slytherin. Nobody asks what she is, because her glowers and ability and overall demeanor suggest she's a demon, but nobody asks because Envy was in a room with Adhlea once during an attempt to kill her and then came back out in a worse mood. Good news - Envy was no longer trying to kill students anymore. It's still fucking creepy she's been shoved into Slytherin.

 

Imshael: Slytherin. Creepy spirit demon. Nobody asks after Emmaera anymore.

 

Cassandra: Gryffindor. While originally part of the School of Seekers, after Ameridan was killed in her second year and half the students went missing, Justinia opened a new wing of Skyhold and allowed the Seekers in (though that may have also had something to do with Cassandra being forced to kill a dragon trying to kill her after a student of Skyhold was forced to summon one).

 

Syven: Gryffindor, because the Hat wasn't a fucking moron enough to put him in the same House as his sister. During their fifth year, Syven offers Dorian and Bull a home. Everyone in the Lavellan household kind of regrets that. Syven offers them a place after sixth year ends. Adhlea nearly strangles him, but only because she failed three of her NEWTs after he told her.

 

Adhlea: Slytherin. While one of the few elves in Slytherin, Adhlea quickly learned how to maneuver in her House. That is not to say she didn't make friends with the other Houses, but she forged an alliance with Vivienne in her fifth year that lasted longer than any alliance forged with Vivienne (save for Vivienne's whole 'part of Celene's Circle' shtick). Despite being two years younger than Marina, Adhlea and Marina developed a sisterly bond in a really weird way, and Marina helped Adhlea charm Doshiel after Doshiel broke up with Leliana. Adhlea remains the only survivor of the Conclave explosion, when the governing body of the magical world was all killed by Corypheus, due to the help of Solas. Leader of the Inquisition, an illegal defense club with so many people it's a wonder the entire damn school isn't in pieces.
